ABESCO FIRE-STOPPING CABLE TRANSIT DEVICES

      

Our range of fire-stopping cable transit devices are designed for effective fire-proofing cable management strategies. The CT120 and CT240 cable transit devices are designed and rigorously tested to prevent the spread of fire and smoke from one compartment to another where these are breached by electrical data and communication cables. These fully retro-fitable devices do not require the use of putties, sealants or coatings and can accommodate few or many cables – even up to full-size cable ladders.

The unique flange for the devices enables them to be attached in place without the use of mechanical fixings into walls or floors and unlike putties or foams which seal the cables permanently, these allow cables to be added or removed at any time without disruption to the sealing.

Our CT120 Cable Transits consist of a square section steel sleeve, which contains the heat reactive intumescent material. The unit has an integral hinged top which provides an easy retro-fit option where cables are pre-installed.

Our CT120/R Cable Transits consist of a circular steel sleeve, which contains the heat reactive intumescent material. The unit has a hinged split body which provides an easy retro-fit option where cables are pre-installed.

Our CT240 product is the largest of our fireclamp devices and is suitable for large openings and cable trays.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A FIRE

The cable transits are round, square or rectangle powder coated steel sleeves with an inner lining of specially formulated intumescent material. When exposed to approximately 150c the intumescent expands to many times the original volume sealing off any voids to prevent the passage of the fire.
