Standard Adapters
Adapters, sometimes called uniters, allow two connectors to be mated together. Typically it will be two connectors of the same type, but in some circumstances a hybrid adapter is required to mate dissimilar connectors.

Fibre optic adaptors are used either within fibre patch panels and other termination units, or externally to interconnect pre-terminated fibre cables. Panel mounting is undertaken either by push fit, screw fit or a retaining nut that screws onto the adaptor.

Available in single-mode and multimode options with either a phosphor bronze or ceramic alignment sleeve for higher precision ensuring low insertion and return loss.

Hybrid Adapters
Hybrid adaptors have the ability to mate different types of fibre optic connectors. Available for both singlemode and multimode fibres.

They are often used during the commissioning and testing of a system, converting from a reference lead or launch lead to the system connector type.
